Excelsior Youth Center proudly offers a variety of chemical dependency services and programs licensed by Washington State's Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse. For clients entering one of Excelsior's chemical dependency programs, the staff is committed to serving the whole child, which includes the family as an integral part of the treatment program. Recognizing that chemical dependency is a disease, we also recognize that all elements of the family have been affected and damaged by the addict's progress through the disease. We believe that measurable growth happens as a result of therapeutic relationships and small group interactions, which are reality based. We believe that trained adults, working in a cooperative, team-based manner, can be appropriate role models guiding our clients in stabilizing their behavior, establishing a motivation for recovery, and setting goals that will mark their treatment progress. |
